K-Citymarket Haapaniemi

A modern retail development in Kuopio, Finland

Paroc Panel System supplied stone wool insulated panels for the new K-Citymarket Haapaniemi in Kuopio, Finland. The project combines DELIGN™ and Built-On™ solutions to create a high-performance and architecturally flexible building envelope.

The new K-Citymarket Haapaniemi is a modern retail development with a total floor area of approximately 12,000 m². The building accommodates extensive grocery and general merchandise departments together with additional retail and service spaces.

Construction started in 2024, with Jalon Rakentajat Oy acting as the main contractor and Arkkitehtipalvelu Oy responsible for the architectural design. The new K-Citymarket opened in May 2026.

Flexible façade solutions

Approximately 4,700 m² of 240 mm thick AST® DELIGN™ and Built-On™ insulated panels were supplied for the building envelope. The DELIGN™ system provides concealed panel fixings for a clean and continuous façade appearance. The Built-On™ system is a certified solution for attaching additional façade materials and architectural elements directly to the surface of the insulated panels.

Together, DELIGN™ and Built-On™ provide architectural flexibility while maintaining the performance and functionality of the stone wool insulated panel envelope.
